Guadalupe G. Ybarra

Guadalupe Gonzales Ybarra, 71, of Uvalde died on Dec. 16, 2018, in San Antonio.

A rosary was recited yesterday and will be recited again today at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.

A funeral mass will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

He was born on Nov. 26, 1947, in Uvalde to Francisca (Gonzales) and Arturo Ybarra Sr.

Ybarra was a kind-hearted person who genuinely cared for his family, friends and community. He was always smiling.

The family says he was a devoted paralegal who helped people in need; and he was a hero to many of those he assisted.

He is survived by his wife, Erlinda Tenorio Ybarra; and daughter, April Ybarra Munoz and husband, San Juan, all of Uvalde; two sons, Armando Ybarra II and wife, Judy, and Jason Lee Ybarra and fiancée, Farrah Soto, of San Antonio; three sisters, Carmen Uriegas and husband, Rudy “Rolle,” Refugia Uriegas and Rosa Ybarra and husband, Joe; and brother, Arturo “Turi” Ybarra Jr. and wife, Cynthia, all of Uvalde; three grandchildren, Jason “Nunie” Ybarra, Desirae Lee Ybarra and Leah Rae Van Ravenswaay; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Anita Avalos, Olga Sanchez, Maria Delgado,  Candelia De La Paz and Hermina Gonzales; and brother, Conrado Ybarra.

Pallbearers will be Jason “Nunie” Ybarra, Freddy Avalos Jr., Joe Ybarra, Arturo “Quatro” Ybarra, Roland Sanchez, Rodolfo Flores, Sylvia Uriegas, Art Ybarra, Rudy Uriegas and Joey Ybarra.

Honorary pallbearers will be San Juan Munoz, Jason Lee Ybarra and Armando Ybarra II.
