Ramiro T. Cano

Ramiro Trevino Cano, 78, of Uvalde died on Oct. 15, 2020, in Kerrville.

Cano was born in Kosciusko to Narcissa (Trevino) and Ramon Cano Sr. on Oct. 24, 1941.

He married Emma Perez on Mar. 9, 1963, in Uvalde, and they were married for 57 years.

He graduated high school in Uvalde. He was a graduate of Sul Ross State University with a bachelors of business administration in accounting and master’s degree in education and business administration. He taught at Southwest Texas Junior College for 24 years.

He worked for Bell Investment Co., Texas Migrant Council, and American National Insurance Co.

He coached Little League and played baseball for numerous seasons in Uvalde. According to the family, he enjoyed spending time at the golf course with his son, brothers, nephews and friends, and he adored all of his grandchildren and was very proud of them.

The family said he was a kind, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and teacher who will be missed.

He is survived by wife, Emma Perez Cano of Kerrville; son, Ramiro Cano Jr. and wife, Jacqueline, of Kerrville; daughter, Jessica Cervantes and husband, Fred Jr., of Kerrville; three sisters, Eva Contreras and Herlinda Cardona and husband, Rogelio, all of Uvalde, and Narcissa “Polly” Flores and husband, Segundo, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; five grandchildren, Desiree Cano, Ramanda Cano, Fred Cervantes III “Tres,” Isaac Ramiro Cervantes and Jamison Theodore Cervantes.

He was preceded in death by both parents; and two brothers, Santiago Cano “Jimmy” and Ramon Cano Jr.
