Ramona S. Zamora

Ramona Salazar Zamora, 82, of Uvalde died on Oct. 23, 2020, at her residence in Uvalde.

Zamora was born on Aug. 12, 1938, in Santa Rita, Coahuila, Mexico, to Sara (Tamez) and Ramon Salazar.

She is survived by five sons, Enrique Zamora and Miguel Angel Zamora and partner, Esmeralda Perez, all of Uvalde, and Gregorio Alberto Zamora, Daniel Zamora and wife, Olga, and Javier Zamora and wife, Maricela, all of Knippa; two sisters, Amelia Duran of Uvalde, Oralia Calderon of Coahuila, Mexico; brother, Abelardo Salazar of Coahuila, Mexico; 11 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gregorio Zamora; both parents; and three siblings, Raymundo Salazar, Jose Salazar and Guadalupe Coronado Salazar.

Visitation took place Sunday from 3-9 p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary with a rosary recited on Monday at 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with interment following at Knippa Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Rigoberto Zamora, Enrique Zamora Jr., Reynaldo Zamora, Reynalda Zamora, Javier A. Zamora, Roberto Zamora, Adreanna Olivares and Christopher Olivares.
