Business history

For many years, Ricky Garcia, owner of Garcia Brothers’ Tire, has been trying to find out the history of the building where he has his business, which is located at the corner of East Rheiner Avenue and North Hondo Street.

Through many sources over the years, he has tried to find out about what he understood was once an ice house. He and I are asking to jog our readers’ memories of Sabinal. If you remember the difference of an ice box and a refrigerator, you are the one who might can help us.

Call one of the numbers listed at the end of my column and help us recapture what seems to be lost history.

Reception

There will be a reception honoring retiring city secretary Betty Harris on Friday, Oct. 7, from 2-5 p.m. All are invited to attend.
