Lonnie Slade Bomer, 21, of Utopia died on Aug. 21, 2021, at Peterson Regional Medical Hospital in Kerrville.

Visitation will begin tomorrow at 4 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral service is scheduled Saturday at 3 p.m. at Living Waters Church in Utopia with interment to follow at Vanderpool Cemetery.

He was born on June 7, 2000, in Kerrville to Amy Lanell (Gass) and Lonnie Wayne Bomer.

Bomer graduated from Utopia High School in 2018 and attended Ranger College on a rodeo scholarship. He returned to Utopia to pursue business ventures in horse training and construction while still participating in rodeo events.

He is survived by his mother, Amy Roberts and husband, Matthew, of Uvalde, and father, Lonnie Bomer and wife, Samantha, of Utopia; grandparents, Don and Carrie Gass of Leakey, Elizabeth Bennett of Tennessee, and Emma Bomer of Utopia; three sisters, Kylie May Bomer, Emmalea Grace Bomer and Kenadie Faith Bomer, all of Utopia; and brother, Canyon Wayne Bomer of Utopia.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Lonnie Bomer Sr., Lue Ella Lubeouf, Donald Sr. and Joy Gass, Mamy Greathouse, and Lynn Bennett; and uncle, Larry Bomer.
