Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District has hired a new principal for Morales Junior High School and is shifting three administrators.
Anne Marie Espinoza, UCISD executive director of marketing and communications, said Isidro Escamilla, formerly principal at Morales Junior High, is now part of the administration team at Uvalde High School.
Darryl Hemphill, a recent unannounced hire, has been named principal of Morales Junior High.
Norma Hill-Garcia, formerly assistant principal of Uvalde High School, is now principal of the Uvalde Dual Language Academy.
UCISD director of ESL and Bilingual Migrant Services Mario Ferron Sr. has been serving as UDLA’s interim principal since the resignation of Abraham Contreras. Ferron will resume his role at central office. More information on the transitions will be reported in a future edition of the Leader-News.
