Virginia Ybarra

Virginia Ybarra, 78, of Uvalde died on Feb. 18, 2018, in San Antonio.

A funeral mass will be held today at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

She was born on Dec. 6, 1939, in Mexico to Matilde Lopez and Fructuoso Barboza.

Ybarra is survived by her husband, Alberto Ybarra of Uvalde; three daughters, Maria Asusana Mireles and husband, Jesus, and Imelda Ybarra, all of Uvalde, and Irma Cepeda Ybarra and husband, Manuel, of Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico; two sons, Jose Maurico Ybarra and wife, Irma, and Juan Luis Ybarra and wife, Rosa Maria, all of Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico; four sisters, Ofilia Barboza of Cuatro Cienegas, Mexico, and Rosa Elva Barboza, Vicenta Barboza and Fidencia Barboza, all of Monclova, Mexico; two brothers, Julian Barboza and Arturo Barboza, both of Monclova, Mexico; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Elena Barboza and Ofelia Barboza; and two brothers, Francisco Barboza and Antonio Barboza.

A rosary was recited on Tuesday and again yesterday at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.

Cremation is under the direction of Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. Interment of ashes will be held at a later date at Hillcrest Cemetery.
