Yolanda V. Lopez

Yolanda V. Lopez, 68, of Batesville died on Dec. 21, 2019, in San Antonio.

She was born on Aug. 30, 1951, in Pearsall to Consuelo (Perralta) and Refugio Vasquez Sr.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Johnny Vela; five brothers, Ventura Vasquez, Robert Vasquez, Paul Vasquez, Oscar Vasquez and Refugio Vasquez Jr.; and sister, Gloria Rios.

Lopez is survived by her  husband of 38 years, Serafin Lopez of Batesville; three sons, Arturo Garza and wife, Rachel, of Casa Grande, Arizona, Lauro Vasquez and wife, Elixabeth, of Big Spring, and Zea Cuellar of Batesville; two daughters, Martha (Tony) Adames and husband, Tony, of Bryan and Lisa Lopez of Batesville; two brothers, Hector Vasquez of Batesville and Mando Vasquez of Lubbock; five sisters, Mary Ramos of Quitaque, Linda Moreno of Batesville, and Delma Martinez, Beatrice Velaquez and Nora Quijano, all of Uvalde; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation was held Tuesday from noon to 9 p.m., and a rosary was recited at 7 p.m., at at the Chapel of Serenity at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home of Uvalde.

A scripture service was held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Serenity at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home. Interment followed at the Batesville Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jonathan Vasquez and Emiliano Vasquez, both of Big Spring, Zea Cuellar and Martin Martinez, both of Batesville, Eric Vela Sr. and Eric Vela Jr., both of Bryan.
