Wilson D. Foust Wilson Derwood Foust, 91, of Uvalde died on Dec. 13, 2017, at Uvalde Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Dec. 18, 2017, at 10 a.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. Paul Stephens will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. in Liberty Hill Cemetery. Foust’s son-in-law Bob Krueger will officiate. .

City raising rates for water, gas and garbage

Uvalde City Council members approved hikes in base and use fees for water, natural gas and garbage services in an effort to boost city revenue. Residential water will now have a base charge of $14.57 (up $1.90) per a three-quarter-inch meter and $18.73 (up $2.44) per 1-inch meter. The previous cost was $12.67 and $16.29, respectively.
