UPD veteran Rodriguez in top spot Uvalde City Council on Tuesday announced that Lt. Daniel Rodriguez has been promoted to chief of the Uvalde Police Department. Rodriguez will officially begin the chief’s duties on April 20. The announcement comes one week after UPD chief Eric Herrera announced his resignation.
