Announcements
- Anniversary Submit your anniversary announcement. There is a $50 charge, which includes a photo. There is no fee for couples celebrating anniversaries of 50 years or more.
- Birth Announcement Birth announcements are published at no charge. However, should you desire a picture there is a $25 charge.
- Engagement Announcement Write-ups are $25 and limited to 500 words. The $25 fee is contingent on the couple later submitting a wedding announcement.
- Obituary Form Submit information by Wednesday at 3 p.m. for inclusion in the weekly Sunday edition of the Uvalde Leader-News. The newspaper publishes obituaries up to 350 words for $50, which includes a photo. If the person submitting the obituary wishes to have the obituary appear exactly as they have written it, it will be billed at the rate of $14.50 per column inch. The same charge may be assessed for text that exceeds the 350 word limit.
- Quinceañera Form There is a $50 charge to include a photo with the announcement.
- Wedding Announcement Write-ups are $50 and limited to 500 words.
Information
- Letter to the Editor The newspaper does not publish anonymous letters to the editor. The writer’s name and city of residence will be published. The writer should include his or her mailing address and telephone number, but their use is for newspaper staff only; that information will not be published. Letters should not exceed 500 words and are limited to one per month. The editors reserve the right to edit for length, potentially libelous statements and accuracy of information.
