The Jungle Book

Catlin Wimberley (right front), who plays Shanti, looks intently across the stage at Shere Kahn played by Cory Davenport (not pictured) during one of the opening scenes of “The Jungle Book.”

The stage has been set, costumes sewn and violins tuned, for the Fine Arts Academy summer show set Tuesday at 7 p.m. The show will consist of a beginning violin concert followed by a musical production of “The Jungle Book,” and was made possible by Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District. The curtain will go up at John H. Harrell Auditorium at Uvalde High School and tickets will cost $5 for adults and $1 for children. Tickets can be purchased tomorrow during summer school hours in the auditorium lobby, or Tuesday at the gate prior to the show. Beginning-violin students will start off the night as they perform five songs for the audience.
