Norma Frantzen

Norma Frantzen, 96, of Luckenbach died on July 11, 2014, at Hill Country Memorial Hospital in Fredericksburg. Funeral services will be held today at 10 a.m. at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg. Prior to services, visitation will be held 9 to 10 a.m. at the church. Graveside services will follow at Der Stadt Friedhof Cemetery in Fredericksburg. She was born on Oct. 25, 1917, in Kimble County to Else Filter Wendel and Arnold Heinrich Wendel. She married Henry Frantzen on April 8, 1942, in Gillespie County. She is survived by two sons, Patrick Frantzen and wife, Cindy, of Luckenbach and Joe Frantzen and wife, Annie, of Luckenbach; two daughters, Betty Hilderbran and husband, Vic, of Uvalde and Alice Segner and husband, Dennis, of Fredericksburg; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Johanna Wendel of Fredericksburg and Adela Wendel of Kerrville. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Curtis Frantzen; three brothers, Victor Wendel, Milton Wendel and Waldemar Wendel; and one sister-in-law, Pauline Wendel. Visitation was held yesterday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Fredericksburg Funeral Home. The family requests memorials to Kids for Christ, 109 E.
