Harley M. Wood
Harley Milton Wood, 90, of Uvalde died on March 6, 2017, at his residence. He was born on April 8, 1926, in Hackberry to Violet B. (Colwell) and Joe D. Wood. The family says Wood enjoyed ranching, hunting and the outdoors; and he was a lifetime member of the NRA. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Maurine McFatter; one brother-in-law, Jeff McFatter; and his wife, who the family says was the love of his life, Mageleane “Maggie” Cochran. He is survived by cousin, Johnny Connell and wife, Delores, of Sabinal, and numerous other cousins. A viewing was held on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Nelson Funeral Chapel in Camp Wood, followed by a graveside service at 3 p.m. at the Barksdale Cemetery. The Rev. Carroll Vernor Jr. officiated.
