Edmundo Gilbert Garcia, 65, of Uvalde died on Dec. 2, 2018, in San Antonio.

He was born on March 2, 1953, in Uvalde to Ninfa (Reyes) and Edmundo Garcia.

Garcia is survived by his parents, of Uvalde; two sons, Jason Garcia of San Antonio and Geronimo Torres of Philadelphia; sister, Carmela Cano and husband, Antonio; and brother, Rene Garcia, both of Uvalde; 12 grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Teresa and Fermin Reyes, and paternal grandparents, Ignacia and Martin Garcia.

A rosary was recited on Monday and again on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.

A funeral mass was held yesterday at 2:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment followed at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Rene Garcia II, Edmundo Fermin Cano, Raymundo Morales, Michael Gomes, Johnathon G. Garcia, Richard Vela and Danny Canales.
